Email Status

  • Moving existing box data to new service (in process…expect on going till Friday night). All emails still updating old boxes.
  • All boxes were updated. Now, running second pass to verify any activity since the first update is posted (and no duplicates) – 11:12am EDT
  • Update Godaddy and Cloudflare for MX records for optivasigns.com ONLY. DNS propagation started 11:45am EDT
  • Verified optivasigns.com now pointing to new email server. Updated incoming and outgoing server information. started 1:53pm EDT for my large box ([email protected]) Finally sync-ed by 3:05pm EST. Changed phone inbox/outbox and it worked as well.
  • Changed MX records for optiva-inc (at godaddy) and spellbrite.com (at cloudflare). Started next pass to verify any activity since last update. Now wait for propagation. 4:29pm EDT.
  • Optiva-inc sync correctly. I changed by incoming/outgoing server info and my box was rebuilt and emails I sent were in my inbox. 6:30 pm EDT.
  • SpellBrite is moved. Please note, my outllook did not show any warning about the old box locations being inactive. So, even if no warning, please go and change the incoming and outgoing server values. It will take some time for outlook to sync your files….just let it run. 7:34am Saturday.
  • I DID get some duplicate email in my inbox for [email protected] and [email protected] Probably due to setup as pop3 vs. imap. I am just deleting them. 7:43am EDT. Saturday
  • One last update migration of any new emails that came in during the move process. 10:31am EDT Saturday
  • At this point, if you have not done so, please update outlook and phones for new inbound/outbound server values.
  • Determined outbound was not sending through secure ports. Fixed at email server. 4:30pm EDT
  • Determined, after subfolders were moved, they no long show in outlook (was there yesterday, not today). Trouble ticket submitted at 5:45pm EDT. Note, all sub-folders and emails in them are still at the old server…so, no data loss. Waiting to see why and how to fix.
  • Determined that sub folders are, in fact, on new email server….if accessing via the web. So, have asked if there is some setting at the server level to tell outlook on the desktop to include sub folders. 6:20pm EDT.
  • To fix folder issue, hover over left side of page over box you wish to add folders. Click right mouse key and Select IMAP folders option. In the popup uncheck the display only subscribed folders option and click apply. Monday 10:35am EDT
